WHAT TO EXPECT
From preparation to aftercare, follow this guide to get the most from your Custom Airbrush Tan and enjoy long lasting results.
BEFORE
PREPARE YOUR SKIN
✓ Complete waxing, manicures, pedicures and facials at least 1–2 days before your airbrush appointment.
✓ Shower with a pH-balanced, sulfate-free body wash. Avoid Dove products.
✓ Exfoliate and shave the day before your appointment when possible.
✓ Arrive with clean, dry skin.
✓ Avoid lotions, oils, perfumes and deodorant the day of your tan.
✓ Allow at least 4 hours between showering and your Custom Airbrush appointment.
✓ Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing that covers your skin — loose pants or sweatpants with a loose-fitting shirt. No shorts, leggings or tight clothing. Wear loose, easy-to-slip-on footwear such as slides or flip-flops; avoid tight shoes and socks.
DURING
THE APPLICATION
✓ Your airbrush technician will discuss your desired color and help select the best solution for your skin tone.
✓ Your skin will be prepped with a pH-balancing spray before the tanning solution is applied.
✓ Your technician will guide you through simple positions to ensure smooth, even coverage from head to toe.
✓ The tanning solution is professionally airbrushed by hand for a customized, natural-looking result.
✓ Special attention is given to areas such as the hands, feet, elbows and knees for a seamless finish.
✓ A finishing powder is applied after your airbrush tan to help reduce stickiness and leave your skin feeling more comfortable.
AFTER
CARE FOR YOUR TAN
✓ Wait 8–12 hours before showering for optimal color development.
✓ During your first shower, use lukewarm water and gently rinse away the cosmetic bronzer. Avoid scrubbing your skin.
✓ Wash only with a pH-balanced, sulfate-free body wash or cleansing bar throughout the life of your tan.
✓ Pat your skin dry with a towel — do not rub.
✓ Moisturize daily with a hydrating, mineral-oil-free moisturizer to help extend the life of your tan.
✓ Avoid exfoliating, long hot showers, soaking in baths, and excessive exposure to chlorine or salt water when possible.
✓ For longer-lasting color, use a GLOW-recommended tan extender or moisturizer containing a small amount of DHA.
