How should I prepare for my sunless spray tan session?

For best results, prepare your skin with a pH-balanced, sulfate-free body wash. Please avoid Dove products. GLOW offers recommended body wash options at both locations.

For a Custom Airbrush Tan, allow at least 4 hours between showering and your appointment for best results.

Exfoliate and shave the day before your sunless tan when possible. On the day of your appointment, arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid moisturizers, perfumes, lotions, oils and deodorant, as these may create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution. You may resume these products after your first shower.

​​​What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?

Wear loose-fitting clothing after your tan. We recommend loose pants or sweats with a loose-fitting shirt. If your solution includes a cosmetic bronzer, darker clothing is best. Avoid leggings and other tight-fitting clothing that may rub against your developing tan.

If it's raining, bring a jacket and umbrella. We also keep an umbrella at GLOW and are happy to walk you to your car!

How long should I wait after a session before showering?

For optimal color development, we recommend waiting:

VersaPro Spray Tan: 6–8 hours
Ultra Infinity Custom Airbrush: 8–12 hours

Showering sooner may reduce the intensity of your tan. The instant cosmetic bronzer will rinse away during your first shower, while the color developed by DHA will remain.

​Will my skin look orange?

No. Today's professional sunless tanning solutions are designed to create a beautiful, natural-looking bronze glow.

We prime your skin with a pH-balancing spray before applying your tanning solution. To help maintain a golden-brown color and extend the life of your tan, we recommend continuing to use a pH-balanced body wash at home.

Our GLOW team can also help select the appropriate tanning solution for your skin tone and recommend products for at-home care.

​​​Will the bronzing formula stain my clothing?

The cosmetic bronzer in our sunless tanning solution is water-soluble and typically washes out of clothing in cold water. However, DHA may permanently stain some undergarments worn during the tanning session.

Disposable undergarments are available for use during your sunless application.

How long does a sunless spray tan last?

A sunless spray tan typically lasts 7–10 days, depending on the formulation selected, your skin and your aftercare routine.

To help extend the life of your tan, moisturize regularly with a hydrating, mineral-oil-free moisturizer. We also carry tan-extending products containing a small amount of DHA that can help maintain your color for an additional 2–3 days.
